Here in Alabama we have two severe weather seasons. We are in the middle of our "secondary" severe weather season. And with that we are keeping a close eye on the potential of severe thunderstorms tomorrow.
A cold front will approach late tomorrow afternoon into tomorrow night. With that a squall line is expected to form & push across our area. As it does the threat of severe thunderstorms will increase. For now it appears damaging winds up to 80 mph will be the main threat. However...if supercells can form ahead of the line or if we see breaks & kinks in the line a few tornadoes will be possible as well.
While this is a good threat...this will be nowhere near the conditions we had April 27th. We are not expecting widespread damage from this. Just be ready just in case. It is likely we'll see a Tornado Watch issued at some point probably around mid-afternoon tomorrow. Best chance for severe weather in our area looks to be between 3 pm and Midnight.
If you follow my personal page on Facebook keep in mind all watches & warnings issued by the National Weather Service in Huntsville post to my news feed as soon as they are issued. Be prepared to take action should tornado warnings be needed. Remember to have a good way to receive warnings...& do not bank on tornado sirens to warn you.
Stay safe!!!
